Is it possible to use domain aliases with EE? I have two domains registered for my site, a .com and a .ie, and I want visitors to be able to access my website using either. I know I can set it up easily in my hosting account as I’ve done it before, but I’m wondering if EE supports it.

    Thanks,
    Fiona

    Hi, Fiona,

There is nothing in EE that needs to support it, only your hosting. I have approximately 6 domains pointing at my one site.  =)

Lisa, the extra domain names that point at your site - do they all 301-redirect back to one single domain name? This is something I’m struggling with in htaccess… Using this code sets me in an infinite loop… Any idea how can I 301-redirect a domain alias to my one preferred domain?

    redirect 301 / <a href="http://www.maindomain.com/">http://www.maindomain.com/</a>

    thanks
