I’ve looked all over this site for the answer to the following simple question, unfortunately to no avail.  If there is a thread on it, please point me there.

How simple is it to change the forum post listings from a First-to-last to a Last-to-first order?

    Thanks,

    Ron

It’s a preference setting- in the Forum CP under ‘Forum Management’- you can set the ‘Post Display Order’ so it’s either oldest first or newest first.  I think that’s what you’re looking for.

    Hi Robin,

That was one of the first things that I tried and since it didn’t work, figured that I just misunderstood what the settings meant.  After reading your post, I toggled back and forth between both settings.  The net result?  Nothing:-(  Changing those setting makes no difference on the posting-order.

I’m wondering, do I need to reset something?

Make sure you are modifying it for the specific forum(s) you have created.  The main preferences at the top of the Forum control panel only affects newly created forums—it does not modify preferences for existing categories and forums.

That did it!  I knew there had to be pilot error somewhere in there:-)

    Thanks Derek and Robin!
