I am using grids in multiple places, and have sporadic behavior particularly on grids where I use the ‘Member’ field as a column.
It’s not consistent, but when I hit “Save” on an entry that has such a configuration, an extra grid row on that grid may or may not add itself.
Doesn’t happen on any grids that don’t use the member relationship field; ruled that out quickly by creating a brand new grid, with a member field, and the same thing sporadically happens.
i.e. created two rows, populated the fields, hit save, and a blank third row would automatically appear on page reload.
If anyone can replicate the problem, and better yet figure out what’s going on and come up with a fix, it would help me massively! :(
Hrm, I’ve tried to reproduce, but haven’t been able to so far. I just added a member field to the ‘Blog’ image grid that’s in the default theme install.
I started by editing a couple of entries, adding another row, sometimes specifying a member or multiple member, sometimes not. Then I tried making a new one, adding 2 rows in the grid, saving.
So far, I haven’t been able to trigger an empty grid.
Are you both running the latest? 7.4.11? My grid field allowed multiple, and had all default settings. Does that seem to matter? If you can fairly reliably replicate and are up for giving us superadmin login and having us try on your install, you can drop a line to support@expressionengine.com and we can login and see if we replicate and can figure out what causes it to happen. Like I say, so far I haven’t triggered it. But inconsistent bugs are always a bit of a bear!
@smash karts: I understand how frustrating it can be to have issues with grids, especially when there are unwanted extra rows. Hopefully someone in the community can help you identify the cause and find a fix!
