Date translations

Is there a way to force an date to be in a certain language.. ex.: my browser is in english but i want the dates to be in french as the website has only a french version.

Language translations will apply to any ExpressionEngine generated messages- and that includes dates on both the frontend and in the control panel. If logged out, the language will be the system default. If logged in, the language will be whatever is set in your profile.
