Removing the cap on reset password attempts

Hi there,

I’ve scoured the docs for this but had no luck so hoping someone has a solution.

I’m developing a site with member management so obviously this includes a reset password form. Sadly when testing though I’m reaching my limit of reset password submissions. See screenshot attached.

Is there anyway to remove this limit on reset passwords during development and I can re add it back when the site is live?

Any help massively appreciated.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for getting in touch about this.

Off the top of my head I don’t know of a config value or something along those lines to turn off max attempts.

That being said, you can empty the exp_password_lockout table and it will restart the count.

Thanks,

Hi Tom,

I was able to sort this eventually, for others reference you just need to edit line 790 on this file (there’s a $max_requests_in_a_day variable)

/system/ee/ExpressionEngine/Addons/member/mod.member_auth.php

Same for line 815 on this file

/system/ee/legacy/controllers/cp/login.php

Thank you though
