file permission issues after uploading images

Hello All,

I have installed v6.4.14

Everytime I upload an image via the CMS, once its on the server i get a

“You do not have permission to access this document.”

The image can not be displayed via the front end. Also When I access File Manager to try and change the image File Permission, on the server it won’t allow me to change it. I have to then contact the Web Hosting company to change the File Permission for that image, so that it displays on the front end.

Is this a installation issue? or web server permissions issue ?

I would appreciate some advice please on how I can fix this issue.

Hi Sabong,

Generally speaking files inherit their directory permissions. I’d start by asking your host to change the directory permissions to 755 recursively.

Thanks,
