Hi,
while learning to use EE 7, I’m asking myself if it is possible to use just templates for a site. What do I need Channels for? And: How do I accomplish it that my index page is being displayed when I type in just localhost? When I migrate to a webspace later, I don’t want the URL to include expressionengine/. My URL shall be just ‘https://djangology.info’. How is that done?
TIA,
Claus
First, you can absolutely make a site JUST using Templates… EE is that flexible… but that kind of defeats the purpose of using the CMS… Or any CMS for that matter.
I have done site rescues before where I did exactly that because I had to get the site up quickly … but then I worked on transitioning content to channels over time.
I can’t help much with your other issue… that sounds like a configuration setup issue in XXAMP … but if you follow the “Getting Started” pages in the online docs, what you want to see is exactly what you will see.
I was thinking of choosing this site to order my proposal essay, but I was lucky. When I saw the detailed review, I learned why some companies should not be trusted.
