Generating multi-row input fieldset using Shared Form View... is it possible?

I would like to be able to create a shared form entry (for an add-on MCP page) that defaults to one line of input (simple text field) but has the option to add more rows - echoing the behaviour of (for example) the control used to add extra entries to Select, Radio and Checkbox fields in the Fields definition pages.

Is there any way to do this using shared form view?

I have worked out how I might create something similar manually / long hand - but seems foolish to get into doing that if there is a native EE method I can use.

There is nothing about how to do this in the docs, but there is much in EE that is undocumented, and the Fields forms do their thing somehow, so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for any help / thoughts.

So after some digging around and some useful comments from others, I think what I’m trying to do is to deploy a simplified version of the Grid field UI within the shared form view. EE docs are mute on the topic, but I can see how it might be possible to hack up a version. Before doing that though, I am wondering if someone knows if there is an undocumented EE approach to doing this that might be used - much like the undocumented way of deploying the EE File widget that came to light a few months ago…
