What is the situation now re licence requirements for non-profits? We’re going to be doing a site on a shoestring for a charity in the UK - they are set on EE but can’t afford the licences for the site and forums.
Is it permissible to use the core version? The info round this seems a bit blurry but it seems that this is not allowed.
There used to be some provision for charities/non-profits or pro-bono work, what’s the current status as of now?
I just had a similar question. While you may not use EE Core for client work, I understand EllisLab will match whatever terms you are offering your client. I’ll be doing a site for our local scout troop soon: entirely pro bono with no money involved whatsoever, so EL will throw in a license for free. If you’re charging 50% of your regular going rate, a license will also cost half the regular price etc.
Bottom line seems to be “if you are getting paid, so should we”, which seems reasonable enough to me.
