Split long entries over multiple pages...

Hello,
On my site I sometimes write long articles, but some are short, the long ones I want it to split over multiple pages.
I want something in the system where;
If an entry field > X words or X paragraphs then split the field (inside an entry) over a few pages.
If the entry field isn’t that size, then just show it on one page
Surely, someone somewhere has accomplished this! Any ideas?

Nevermind, I have updated the simple pagination system to use Bootstrap and sent its author an update, but generally that plugin works fine.
