Search Results Link

I have a search results page and I use the following for the link:

<td width="30%" valign="top"><b><a href="http://{auto_path}">{title}</a></b></td>

However, when the search results did not display the channel, just the URL title.

So I changed all the channel Search URL settings to include the channel.

http://www.mysite/com/<channel>

Now it works, but if it is the root entry of the channel, it gets listed twice as the URL

http://www.mysite.com/<channel>/<channel>

Which results in a 404 error.
