Localhost dev server getting cache dir error: The following directory must be writable

Getting the following error on a local dev server. No idea what the issue is:
An Error Was Encountered
The following directory must be writable: /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/website.local/library/expressionengine/cache
Any ideas what the issue is?

That directory needs to have “777” permissions so that EE can write to it programmatically.

Was able to resolve by repairing permissions in OS disc utility. All directories on local dev server were already readable and writable. Thanks for the help!
