I have a post asking about 404’s from 5 days ago, still unanswered, and there are a bunch of other unanswered posts as well.  Pre-new policy, I rarely saw an un-aswered posts.

I don’t see how this will help EE grow, and I feel it says pay the $49mo a month or you might be stuck.

Plus, it really sucks when I find a previous post in Google that may have the answer but the that forum has been disabled.

I love EE, but things seem to be taking a turn…

Agreed. Problems used to be solved fast, but it’s feeling more like a ghost town now (at least in terms of ‘advanced’ users who can provide solutions). I have a feeling this could be the beginning of a slow death for EE.

I’m moving to a system called concrete5 - free open-source so no extortionate licence costs and has something called ‘in-context editing’ (I think that’s what it’s called) where instead of a back-end for content editing, you just log in and click the part of the page to edit!

Everything I’ve found about it has been hugely positive and looks like the community for it has been growing really fast over the past few years.

One of the strongest points of this system was that you could search for answeres in the forums. Most of the times some one else had allready asked the question and got an answere for it. In the future you will search and find the question but not the answere. If I post a “ticket” or a “forum post” that get solved then I want others to be helped from my question as well. I understand that support costs money. However the idea should not be to make money on support but on the system. You don’t want a situation where you end up having a bad product so you can make more money on support.

There should atleast be an option to share tickets so when they are resolved they also show as a post in a
    related forum.
