This question may be related to a resolved thread.

    Hi Lisa,

I just updated another website to EE2 that now also has the same error referenced in the above link:

    Error

Unable to load requested field type file:  ft.md_notes.php.

Confirm the fieldtype file is located in the expressionengine/third_party/ directory

You mentioned that I needed to remove the exp_extension line. Where would I find that in order to remove it?

The site is currently offline because of this issue and I would like to get it back online as soon as possible.

    Thank you

    Andrew

    Hi, qrux -

That line would be in the database in exp_extensions, but you might first want to check for an update or contact the author to see if there is one.

    I hope that helps!

I was able to contact the developer of the plugin and he suggested going into the database and looking at exp_channel_fields in the field_type column and deleting all instances of md_notes and replacing it with just simply “textarea”. I was able to do just that and it worked. I guess EE was looking for the md_notes field type, which doesn’t exist, so it crashed. A very helpful reply. So far the site is good to go. Thanks!
