I’m looking to start a new business in 2013 which essentially is a link between my clients and several companies. The link would contain secure information. Can EE meet my needs?

The workflow would be as such;
Client- secure signup/login, complete a secure form, data which is held on-site (securely) and also emailed directly to admin.
; Client can logon and review this data and make changes/additions anytime.

Admin to review data (on-site) and edit/cull and forward certain information to several companies.

Companies have secure signup/login; Companies review data and accept request (payment)
Companies complete a secure form in reply. Reply is sent to client via login (inbox feature) with a email prompt. Client reviews and can reply on site.

Requirements;
Membership login (Clients/Companies/Admin)
Custom data forms held online copy sent via email to admin
Online chat message/inbox function between Clients-Companies-Admin
Logged information viewable by admin

I hope the above information can assist with your recommendations. Is this possible with EE?

All this can be done with ee 2.5.2 unless there are specific industry standard legal requirements that have to use a pre-certified software, such as electronic health records.  The #1 concern is if you’re using a third party hosting, you definitely want to use EngineHosting.com.

The only point I see that might be a sticky point is the Online Chat Message. That’s not something built into ExpressionEngine, but ExpressionEngine could use any third party application that utilizes online real time chat. The Discussion Forum Module might be good for this as well.

The rest of your wishlist looks great.

I would also just clarify that EngineHosting is nice, but you are in no way limited to using just them. Any hosting provider will work. Some are of a better quality than others by nature, but ExpressionEngine is also very flexible.

Thanks Shane. The chat does not have to be real time. What I require is more like a private message between users (clients & companies) much like a forum private message function but do not require any other feature of the forum module. That said is there a recommended plugin or third party application which can do this? Thanks, Mark
