    Hi EE bods,

I’m looking for some guidance on which license I need for a new site I want to build in EE. The site is going to be for a Physiootherapy clinic.

    Facts:
They won’t be selling anything through the site
It’s going to be used to post articles and links relating to physiotherapy treatment for information

The company is a business, but the license descriptions seem to say that commerical/non-commerical apply to the website itself. As the site won’t be used for selling anything, and will be a site purely for information about the services they provide, which license to I need? Will Non-Commerical cover it?

    Thanks

    Hey teladesign,

Thank you for your interest in ExpressionEngine.

Here are the descriptions of the two licenses you are considering.

Non-Commercial License: Users of the Non-Commercial License may use the Software only on a website engaging in personal, non-commercial, or non-profit activities.

Commercial License: Users of the Commercial License may use the Software on a website engaging a commercial, or for-profit activities. Websites engaging in direct, or indirect commercial activities must purchase a Commercial License.

Sounds like you fall into the Non-Commercial category.

Is there anything else I can help with?

    Cheers,

Thanks for getting back to me.
Yes, my question is that because the website is for a company which provides a service for money, doesn’t that count as commercial?

    Hi teladesign,

If this site is used for a business that is not personal and is for profit, then Commercial is needed.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers,
