    Hi there,

    In the docs, it says:

From the Control Panel, go to Design > Templates > Global Preferences.

Set Allow templates to be saved as files? to “Yes”.
Set the Basepath to Template File Directory: You must place the server path to the directory you created above in this preference.

I expected this to apply to all templates. However, the template only seem to show on the file system if I click “Save Template as File” on the individual template in the CP, despite setting the global preference to “Yes”.

Can you please confirm whether this is the correct behaviour?

IOW, do you have to expressly set “Save Template as File” on each individual template?

    Thanks!

You should be able to go to Design > Templates > Synchronize Templates and sync all the templates. The templates without files should then creates files.

Unfortunately not. The only templates that appear in Design > Templates are the ones that I have specifically set “Save Template as File”.

Bummer, then yeah, go through one at a time. Hopefully, you don’t have too many.

    Hey Gazley and Stephen,

You are right, you have to mark that check box on each template. I am not sure who came up with that brilliant idea, but there it is. If you guys go to EECI this year, I will buy you a beer. 😊

Is there anything else I can help with?

    Cheers,

If you create new templates, like for a new section, and then upload them, you won’t have to open them in the CP and check the box.

    Hey TGP,

Good point, but for existing ones, the process is as described.

Is there anything else I can do for you gents?

    Cheers,
