Hi everyone,

after last update I got error with the login.

It seems that there is an error in config or admin or index.php files or with the EE setup, however I cannot find it.

What version of ExpressionEngine did you update to?

Have you made sure to update MSM as well?

Just for a test, can you open /system/expressionengine/config/config.php and add or edit:

$config['cookie_domain'] = ''; 
$config['cookie_path'] = '';
$config['cookie_prefix'] = '';

Let me know if you can then login.

I have updated from latest (2.4.0? I don’t remember). The MSM is updated as well.

I have checked the config file and there is only:

$config['cookie_prefix'] = "";

not cookie path, no cookie_domain - what should I put, and for what this is used to?

Hi nicomsw,

Adding those values as “blank” will override their settings in the Control Panel.

If cookie settings in the Control Panel are mis-configured, it can mess with ExpressionEngine so we override them here and we know that’s not a factor. You’ll need to enter them just as the example:

$config['cookie_domain'] = ''; 
$config['cookie_path'] = '';
$config['cookie_prefix'] = '';

Save those changes, and try to login to your Control Panel again.

If that doesn’t get you in, you can empty the exp_security_hashes table in the database and try again after that.
