It’s weird how I can not access the Edit submenu from the Content tab in the Control Panel.

Here is the message I get:

A Database Error Occurred

Error Number: 1146

Table 'eh7143e.exp_comments' doesn't exist

Have you made any changes recently? An update to ExpressionEngine?

This looks like a known bug with ExpressionEngine 2.4. So if you are on 2.4 now, you can check out the bug for the fix.

If you are not on 2.4, then we have some troubleshooting to do.

Please let me know and we will go from there.

Also, is the Comments module installed?

I had the same error, working with a fresh install of EE 2.4. Once I enabled “Comments” module (which I don’t need) the error disappeared.
