Hey Guys, I have a question about setting up a new Brilliant Retail store with an old stores products and categories.

The Current Set Up I currently have BR installed on an EE site that is running MSM. The store has all the products, categories and templating in place. The issue I ran in to has to do with the way I set up the subdomain. The main install of EE and the subdomain powering the store are both on the same server, but have two different server accounts. So I ended up running in to all kind of permission issues. Shipping won’t work, cache was a mess, the list rages on.

What I Want To Do What I am wanting to do at this point is pull the subdomain out of the MSM install and put it on it’s own freestanding install of EE. This should fix all my permission issues (knock on wood). Would it be possible to pull the products and categories I currently have set up in the old BR store and batch import them in to the new setup? I want to try and save as much time as possible on this, so not having re-enter all the products would be a huge help to that.

Thanks Guys! Matthew Spiel @thinmatt

When we’ve had similar issues we ended up working directly with the EE DB to ensure category / entry ids were the exact same.

Perhaps you could clone the whole system then remove the MSM side of things (or just ignore it) and back the settings into what you’d like. Then the references should be intact without the hassle of the direct DB work.

Nathan, will give that a shot. I think I want to try and just grab the specific BR tables from the DB and see if I can get those to line up.
