    Hello,

I have EE 2.3.1 with MSM 2.1.1. I have two sites setup.

I am logging into the CP with site1 domain. With cookies cleared, I can log into the CP without a problem. When I log out and try to log back in, it constantly redirects back to the login page. When I clear cookies again, it works fine.

I have the cookie domain set as .example.com

I searched the forums and found similar posts, but none of the solutions were really relevant to my issue. Is this a known problem?

    Thanks.

    Hi daniel_wd,

What are you using for Control Panel Session Type. Try setting to just cookies.

Are you using the new admin.php to login with or an index file from the system folder?

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the reply.

Setting the CP session type to “cookie only” seems to have fixed the redirect problem. I haven’t looked into how the CP session is being validated, but since using cookies only fixed the problem, I’m guessing there is some sort of mismatch of info between cookie data and what is being stored in the PHP session?

I have the EE system files above the webroot. The way I access the CP is I have a system folder in the webroot with the admin.php file (renamed to index.php).

Is the CP session setup to be more secure when using both cookie and session?

    Thanks,
    daniel

    Hi daniel,

You are perfectly fine using the cookie option. Just a reminder to logout if using control panel from a public or shared device or computer.

Is there anything else we can help you with?
