I recently upgraded to version v2.1.1 Build: 20101020 from version 1.6.8. I am using the MSM add-on.

When I am logged in as a Super Admin and create and entry I have no problems uploading an image and adding it to the entry. When I am logged in as a member I am asked to add a link when I click “Return to Publish”. If I click cancel nothing gets added to the entry.

When I add the link the code looks like this:

    <a href="http://mydomain.com\">http://mydomain.com\</a>

But when I add an image as a Super Admin this is what I get:

    https://ellislab.com/asset/images/showcase/image-link1.jpg

I’ve attached a screenshot of the pop-up that requests the link.

I just figured out that it has nothing to do with the members group but rather the Default HTML Buttons.

When I add the img button using the Default HTML Buttons it causes the upload to ask me for a link, but when I remove it from the Default HTML Buttons and add it through my account preferences the upload just asks be for the Alt title and it works.

I assume this is not normal.

    chabbs,

Ok if you goto your Account Control Panel and look for the left hand menu item called HTML Formatting Buttons

In the img opening tag, make note of its contents.

Now head to Admin > Content Administration > Default HTML Buttons

Is the opening tag the same for img as you previously made note of?

Also when logged in as the member who is experiencing this issue look under their account cp and see what their opening tag is and compare

I made notes of the two image contents and discovered that they are not the same. The one for the Default HTML Buttons is not the same as the one for the profile buttons.

    Default HTML Button

    <img  >

    Profile Button

    [![Link:!:http://]!]

I took the one from the profile and placed in the default button.

I checked the Default HTML Button in my main site and it comes up OK, but the site on the subdomain is coming up with \ before the quotes. Why do you think this is happening?

    EDIT

I just realized that when I post the code the forum WYSIWG strips the \. I’ve attached a file to compare the two.

    chabbs,

What is in your profile is correct so replace the Default one

Ok to explain, the Default HTML Buttons don’t affect any of the publish forms. They are what are applied to any new member account you create.

So that member you are having trouble with has the incorrect opening tag applied with the backslashes as they were created using the wrong Default HTML Buttons, at least the wrong img opening tag

You need to login as that member and change their HTML img button for them. It is unique for every member, hence why yours is working as a SuperAdmin
