I have been having issues with the Template Manager for the last few builds, but I’ve ignored it because I have only needed to use the flat file system to add templates and groups.

Well, now I need to delete a group and it doesn’t seem to sync for removal of templates in the CP, so I’ll need to get in there to delete it.

The only issue I have seen for the last few weeks is that PHP runs out of memory attempting to load the page. I have had my PHP memory limit set at 128M for the last few months (because some front-end items were running out of memory for awhile.)

So today I just kept bumping it up to see what the Template Manager needed. At 512M, the page loaded blank (possibly a caching issue) but after settling in at 392M, it finally loaded something.

But that something is an incomplete page that doesn’t allow me to interact with the templates at all. I can see the groups on the left, but nothing where the templates should be on the right and clicking the group names results in no change to the page.

    EE 2.1.0 Build 20100810
    MSM (latest, I believe)

highlands, you certainly shouldn’t need that much PHP memory. What sort of extensions are you running if any? What addons caused you to need to bump things up in the beginning?

I’ve had that issue for awhile, so I don’t know what started it. I’d have to go in and start disabling add-ons to test and since this is now a site in production, I wouldn’t want to start messing with that.

My main problem is with the Template Manager, which I don’t suppose should be affected by any add-ons. Correct me if I am wrong on that. I’m more worried that something within the Template Manager (like a template or group conflict) is causing all the fuss. All of the other template control pages load fine, including sync, and nothing seems out of the ordinary to me.

    highlands,

Yes, extensions can interact with the control panel. Please find a time when you can temporarily disable extensions just so we can rule that out. Let us know what you find.
