    Hi all,
My team is attempting to do something pretty interesting, but we’re running into some walls/hurdles. We have an EE 1.6.9 site setup and functioning perfectly. We have setup a template group we are directing iPhone traffic to, and there we are allowing authenticated users to post to EE using SAEF, which is working great. Now, we want to include an image upload with each post. We originally thought we’d accomplish this using a web app as it’s simply HTML and JS. But, the web apps have no access to the camera or photo albums.

So, we have ported our HTML/CSS/JS and images over to X-Code and Phonegap (http://www.phonegap.com) and are building the project as a native iPhone app which we will distribute either ad hoc or via the app store. Phonegap is basically a Mobile Safari “wrapper” to turn a web app into a native app. The native app approach gives us access to the iPhone camera API but presents it’s own world of complexities in that we cannot “log in” to an EE installation and post via SAEF.

I’m writing to see if anyone has attempted anything similar via the Metaweblog API. Or, if anyone can point us to a resource for posting images via Metaweblog API. Or, if anyone IS a resource available to write this code for us, or guide us along. We’re in a bit of a crunch for time and any help would be appreciated.

And, if any more information is necessary, let me know. I’d be happy to explain further.

Thanks in advance to the super community that is EE!

    Greg
