Is there anyway to limit the length of time that an entry is sticky? So for example, after a week, an entry marked sticky will automatically become not sticky. This seems like a stretch but I thought I would ask.

There is nothing automatic. The main problem would seem to be that the date of when an entry is set to sticky is not being recorded anywhere. If, hypothetically speaking, all entries are sticky right from the beginning (entry_date), you could run a query setting those entries back which are older than a certain amount of time. Makes sense? There is nothing built into EE to do that, though, it would have to be a custom query.
