    Hello,

I have a client who needs a CMS that can allow for a standard Blog but then also a Newsletter archive that is made up of PDF files. I’m guessing I would just have two “Weblogs” for this or is there a simpler solution with EE?

I’m trying to make it as easy as possible for the client to update and since I know they are looking to add functionality over the next year I’m trying to steer them away from Wordpress as a solution.

    Thanks!

    Kurt

Two weblogs with ExpressionEngine is a simple solution. =)  You can, of course, use categories to separate them out.  The decision between weblogs and category is an important one when deciding on your data structure.

But yes, you can certainly accomplish this with ExpressionEngine.

You might like to try out EE to get more of an idea of how everything works. =)

    Thanks so much!

What about calendars? I’m not seeing much about them in this system. Are they available and easily skinned? What about having multiple calendars in one site if available?

You can use weblogs to set up an event calendar.  See the wiki article on Events Calendar =)
