    Hello,

I know for playing aruond the core version that the design should not be complicated cause I can use CSS that’s great !
just one thing can I put EE tag into <div> tags ? in order to get more out of CSS ?
did’nt see that in the tutorials…;)

And another thing what about the forum how easy is that to change the skin ? I’ve used VB witch is a nightmare even with the admin control panel always have to refresh to see the change and so many variables… and phpbb easier now I’m with SMF even worst ! I hate having to skin a forum but dond’t have any option since the skins available don’t tempt me. So how hard is it with EEforum ? Is it done with CSS like in the templates ?

    Thanks again for your help
    best regards

Yes, you can put EE tags into div tags, and CSS works great either way.

As for the forum skin…. eh, I don’t know how it compares with VB, but it is slightly easier to skin than IPB…. but there is more trial and error involved.  Basically, skinning the forum is something you want a bit of experience with.  It’s just another set of templates, so it has css (a nice thorough one) and then templates that control the actual pieces of the forum.  And a set of images, as well.  Really, if you know how to skin IPB it’s not hard to figure out.

On my site, I basically changed the css only and it looks like this forum with different colors, for the most part.  If you don’t or can’t skin the forum, I’d recommending going to the professional network or posting a job posting in the job board here.  There’s some great designers here.  😊

Is it possible to try and skin the forum with the 30 days tryout ?
    is the forum tableless ?
I kind of like the “shares” theme can i modify it to my likings without any copyright infractions ?

    Thanks

I believe you can skin the forum in the 30 days tryout to some degree.  It’s certainly possible to change the css and template bits from inside it.  The forum, like all other forums I know of, uses tables.  And yes, I believe you can modify the shares theme to what you want, unless someone says otherwise.
