If I were to create 3 sites with MSM, would I be able to seperate out one of the sites later to its own installation and database?

Could that site be completely removed from the MSM database also?

    Welcome to our community, MCSneato!

There is not currently a way to spin-off a site out of the Multiple Site Manager, so while it’s possible, it require custom coding a script or manually separating out those tables and would need to be done with care.

Ok, maybe not so easy to spin off a whole site, but wouldn’t I be able to export the entries & comments, and then import them into the site at its new location?

I would have to manually build the templates and such, but the entries would be importable?

    Is that correct?

You could import them, there is a wiki entry on exporting in MT format (to us the MT Import Utility) or you could use CSVGrab or FeedGrab to import from a CSV file (having used a template to output in that format) or an RSS feed respectively.
