    Hi

Is there a way in which you can hide tabs like ‘Modules’, ‘My Account’ and ‘Admin’ from certain administrators using the control panel.

If not, how do most people set up an admin area for ‘non-technical’ clients who only want a simple set of tools, is it common to build a seperate admin area or is that a waist of time?

    Many thanks, James

Admin will be hidding if they don’t have access to it.  There is also a “hide tab” extension hiding around here somewhere, I believe it can be found at http://expressionengine.com/wiki/Extensions. =)

James, you can exercise pretty fine-grain control of what different kinds of adminstrators see, if you create Member Groups for each kind of administrator.

Then you can adjust individual privileges according to the documentation (these are all selections available to you through the Control Panel).

Whatever privileges a Member Group doesn’t have, will not show up on the control panel for members assigned to that group.

    Regards,
    Clive
