I’m seriously considering changing from Wordpress to EE. So get ready for a flurry of questions about weather EE can do certain things.

    So:
My business is to produce special interest (mostly instructional) videos, then sell them on my site. I offer free tutorials right now but I want more advanced tutorials available to only those who have purchased certain products.
    So here’s a question:
Can I give access to certain areas of my site to some but not others?

If so, can the access be for a set duration. Say for a year, then automatically cancel access?

If so can EE notify me that someone’s access is about to expire so I can send them a notice to renew?

Also, Does anyone know where I can see someones site that uses the PayPal Simple Commerce Module?

You should, I did long ago, haven’t looked back.

Absolutely, EE has a very powerful Member Management Module

As for the rest of your questions, I’ll let someone else answer.
You’ll get several around here 😊
