I’m attempting to create a new site in Expression Engine and had planned to use the Wiki Module, but I’m not sure it does what I need.

Does the Wiki Module enable you to have custom fields for articles? The site I’m working on is similar to Yelp, in a way, where any member will be able to edit or create pages about a business. But it’s imperative that the pages people create are structured—that is, separate form fields for Address, City, State, Hours of Operation, Phone Number, etc.

Does the Wiki Module support this? If not, is there a feature of EE that would enable functionality such as this?

You might have better results using a weblog with stand-alone entry forms (SAEF) that let members add and edit data.

A beta site I’ve got going, pirg.ca, allows related organizations with a certain membership level to enter and edit their own info on the front end. What the “organizations” weblog does is provide typical fields (address, phone, etc.) and then three custom fields (custom1, custom2, custom3) as well as custom labels for those fields (label1, label2, label3). A logged-in member can click “edit” and then change this information.

You would need solspace’s Form Helper plugin to deploy the ‘edit’ form: Form Helper plugin

    Hope this is useful.
