Newbie here, about 6 hours into my first attempts at EE.

I’m having two things go wrong, hopefully because of a single issue that’s easily fixable:

—My “assign_variable” tags are actually printing on the HTML page.

—My attempt at linking stylesheets isn’t working because the “{stylesheet=...}” isn’t being parsed properly.

    Here’s the page: http://rf-resources.com/ee/index.php?/testing/index/

It might also help to know that:

—This site is hosted at Dreamhost
—I had to turn on “Force URL query strings” because I was getting the “no input file specified” error.
    —Also set “$qtype = 2;” in the index.php file.

Hope you can help! Many thanks.

Are there any other tags on that template besides the stylesheet tags and assign_variable tags?  One assign_variable tag has a syntax error (missing closing quote on the value), but this page everything is working:

    http://rf-resources.com/ee/index.php?/site/

So I’m wondering if the Template Type of your index page was modified, perhaps to “static”?  (Click “Template Preferences” in the Template Manager while examining the “testing” group.

Derek, thank you so much! It was that the index page was set as “static.” All’s working now.

    Best regards,
