I am very happy with the main EE program, but I am wondering what the future status is of an updated forum module.  I do not know if I should be waiting that a new module is coming in the near future, or should I hire someone to add the features I would like in current module.  Not much has happening in the two years I have been using EE, so I am starting to wonder if anything will ever happen.  Just looking for some advice/insight.

I have waited more than 2 years. I dont have high hopes on this Module at all, instead have started to scare if they dump it also from list like they did with Gallery Module (and there never came up any patch promised).

Im more than glad if Forum gets the update that it been waiting a very long time but…..

Wow this is very sad.  It would be nice if some from EE can let us know whether she continue waiting or let us start to invest our time or money and modifying it ourselves.

EL has instituted a gag order on all future software update/upgrade teasers or notices. To quote Derek Jones shortly after the EL upheaval occured last fall:

“The changes I’m introducing to the company are vast and can’t be all done at once. I think we took a big bite this week, but there’s much more in store. However, one of the things I also changed on Sunday is that EllisLab will not be speaking in detail about things that aren’t yet ready or promising things to come that have not materialized. Words are thin, actions count.”

Well, it’s been almost four months since EE 2.5.5 was released, and we’ve had no word since about releases. So I guess, without any words, we’re all still waiting for some “action.”

Sure would be nice to see what the makers been makin’! Others have been hard at work being makers, too, though they are letting their clients know what they are up to.

Well its been over a year since I last looked at this thread I posted.  I am just wondering if there is any hint or anything to a improved forum that will include a little bit of updated features for posting videos or anything else.
