Greetings,

Got a client who would like a directory like yelp. I found a wordpress theme GeoTheme. But I wan to stay with EE.

This thread seemed promising

I wonder whether anyone has seen EE used in a yelp-like fashion and what tips or direction you could give me.. I don’t want to lose the client but at the same time don’t want to go over my head.

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums!

I have 3 add-ons in mind that would make building this a bit easier. For Geo-location, look at Google Maps for ExpressionEngine. For folksonmy and user ratings and reviews, look into Tagger and Channel Ratings from DevDemon.

Those 3 plus EE’s out-of-the-box features should keep you from getting in over your head!
