    Hi
I am running a 1.67 version of EE and now when the client want to login to the CP it shows the following error

Deprecated: Function eregi() is deprecated in /home/adminver/public_html/difracor.ch/admin/db/db.mysql.php on line 342

I think (found this in the forum) the problem is the PHP version 5.3.15 now and i have to update ee to 1.73.

My question: How can i do the update without reaching the CP for deleting the cache and is is the update working if i just put the new files on the server?

    Thanks

    Hey verveuster,

Oh man, this is not a fun issue. It sounds like a major hosting service upgraded their PHP version because this is the 5th case today.

There is really no easy way to do this. You may be able to get your hosting provider to transfer you site to an older host or turn back the upgrade, then you can upgrade to 1.7.3 or even better 2.5.3 as support for 1.X is going away rather soon.

The other options is to install 1.7.3 on the server and then import the DB. The problem, as you probably know, is that ExpressionEngine is unreachable because basically PHP was pulled out from under it. Getting it to limp along through an upgrade is not going to be fun. I personally would try to get the host to let me roll back and then upgrade.

Did they not send out a warning?

    Cheers,
