This might be answered with something really basic, but I’m going to ask anyway 😉

Is there any easy way for content administrators (who may not be very technically savvy) to link to other pages within the same site?

I realize that you can select the link button above the RTE and manually type in a link to a page, but it’s been difficult explaining the proper paths to my client.

Am I missing something? Do I need to give them a quick run-down on the history of directory structure and using “../../” before template names?

Is there an add-on that provides functionality in which a content editor could click on a button and choose from a hierarchy of template pages or something of the like?

This is tough because natively EE doesn’t have a concept of “Pages”, only entries and templates and one entry may feed into one or many pages.

If you go down the path of using the Pages Module, or 3rd Party addons like Structure, then I’ve seen other add-ons that show Pages in the Control Panel for the purposes of linking.

I looked a little into a few third-party solutions yesterday, and one of them did mention integration with Structure, which is what this site is using.

If you don’t mind me asking, how have you explained linking to clients? “Be sure to put {path="template_group/template"} as your links”? “Be sure to put “../..” before the page(s) you want to link to?”

I try to mitigate the need for in-content links by using subnav, related entries, or categories. Basically any way I can automate the link building.

If they still want to link I have them visit the target page in the browser and copy the URL.
