I have 2 sites in my MSM install which are site A and site B

Can you guys show me how to export all entries in one channel of site A and then import them to one channel in site B.
I found an article in the wiki but that’s for EE1, not EE2.

    I’m running EE 2.4.0.
    Thanks.

Just to be sure, you realize you can pull content across sites, so you could display content from Site A on Site B even if it’s stored differently on the backend?

For some reason, when I tried using the site=”” parameter to pull entries from site A to site B, those entries doesn’t show up and I can’t think of any possible reason that causes this.

If the same template that works in Site A doesn’t work in Site B (with the site parameter added) then you’ve found a bug.  Did you try the code in Site A first?

    Hey hungle,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

    I second Mike’s inquiry.

Can you show us the code you are using?

    Thank you,

    Hello Boyink! &Shane;
Actually, it was a bug and it has been fixed. I just found it here: https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/17392

As due to the nature of my site, each photo is an entry so the first time when I tried to pull the photos, nothing showed up, I thought the site parameter doesn’t work. Second time I tried but a blog post, only text showed up, so I did some search on “MSM images doesn’t show up” and found the solution.

Everything is working as expected now.
    Thank you guys 😊

Anyway, I still want to know the answer for my questions. For example I don’t want to “waste” 1 site just to hold 1 channel’s entries or for organizational purpose, how can I export and import entries between sites?

    Thanks!

You had a chance when creating site B to copy over stuff from site A..😉  Unfortunately once you get through the MSM site creation process you don’t get that chance again.

Best bet at this point is http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/datagrab.

    Hey hungle,

Like Mike mentioned, once created you are not presented with that option again.

Can you give datagrab a go?

    Cheers,
