I’m using EE’s built-in login and registration pages for member management, and they’re redirecting people funny places. No matter where you start from, the login redirects to a specific entry of one of the channels, and the registration page redirects to the About page. I’d like users to either be taken back to the page they were on previously, or at least just take them to the site index. Where can I adjust the redirect setting for these pages?

I do feel your frustration with the Membership templates!

What version of ExpressionEngine are you using here?

Are you open to a couple of suggestions? Have a look at Freemeber (FREE!) or Zoo’s Visitor. They can make dealing with this a little more sane.

If you look in Design->Themes->Member Profile Templates you will see where the native files are kept, and they are not real keen on being customized. It can be done, but I couldn’t find the bit that handles redirection 😕
