    A year or so ago I worked on an EE1 site. All of the sudden I received an email from the client exclaiming that the entries are not showing up in the rendered site templates.

    Right now the database is connecting,

    http://valrockmusic.com/dbtest.php

    But the entries are completely blank in the templates. Not showing up on the site.

    I’ve never seen this before - all entries are still present in the control panel. They are also present in the database.

    You can see from the Screen Shot that the homepage is supposed to have text.. Etc..

    On every page - the data is missing.

    Any clues?

    Both of these sites are running EE 1.6.8

    Again, this is due to a Plesk Migration from DV 3.5 to 4.0..

    Just as in this post.

    Argh, I don’t remember how I fixed it!

    Hi Tony,

    can you turn on Error Reporting and see if anything shows up for the blank pages?

    Does yoru control panel work and this is just the front-end?

    Are you using a htaccess file? if so what’s in it?

    How much PHP memory do you have?

    I turned error reporting on and there are no errors.

    PHP memory is set at 128

    Control panel is fully functional.

    Templates are saving, permissions are correct.

    I think it is an open_basedir issue -

    Well, I have the sites put back together, but still, all database information is not coming through.

    It took me a little while to fix the CSS issues, after setting open_basedir according to this article:

    http://ryanhavoctaylor.com/tutorial/plesk-pear-include_paths-open_basedir-and-media-temple/

    That seemed to at least get my templates up. But I can’t seem to get the weblog, information to come through to the front end.

    Very strange.

    It is obviously not an issue with the database credentials, because it is connecting. I’ve removed all cache as well.

    How are you trying to connect to the database, as localhost or via the server domain name? If you change those around, are you able to establish a connection? Also, in /system/expressionengine/utilities/dbtest.php, if you move that to the root of your server and access it, what are the results of the test?

    Hey Dan,

    Thanks for the reply. The database is connecting just fine for both sites.

    http://valrockmusic.com/dbtest.php

    What is even more strange - there are tags that are working - such as

    {embed='embeds/header' title="Some title here"}

    However, none of the weblog tags are working at all.

    {exp:weblog:entries weblog="home-focus" limit="1"}

    If I create an entirely new template and weblog - no luck.

    After updating EE to 1.7.1 the posts showed up on the site.

    Happy enough with that fix for now. I do have some other 1.6.8 sites working on an MT DV 4.0 without an upgrade.
