    Hi,

I’ve setup a admin member group for my client.
We have stored a lot of variables (like address, google scripts) in the Global Variables.

I’d like my client to maintain those variables but for some reason I can’t configure the proper member group so that the client has access to those global variables. Is this possible (of course without Super admin rights)?

You could make custom member fields and use them snippets instead of giving the user access to global variables.

    Hi E2design,

I have a member group that I created as a clone of Super Admins. A member in this group had access to Global Variables that I created while logged in under my SA account. You can allow access to Global Variables by making sure the group has privileges to the DESIGN section under the “Control Panel Access” heading in the Member group editing screen. If you want to restrict access to templates, you can do that under the “Template Editing Privileges” heading in the same screen.

    Hi,

I am having trouble giving access to Global Variables. I have allowed access to the design section in the member group editing screen but they still don’t get access. Am I missing something or is this the way it is supposed to be?

    Thanks
    BD

    Hello BD!

So, for this test, I went the other direction. I based a new group on the “Guest” group, so it would be fully retracted.

Then I ratcheted up the privileges until I was able to see/edit Global Variables. The 2 minimal settings are:
    Can access DESIGN section

    and

Can administrate template groups and templates

    Both set to “Yes”.

The caveat? That the member group will have access to all of the site’s templates.

    Cheers,

    Hi Dan

Well that worked nicely! Not very intuitive though 😊

I can limit access to the templates using Zoo Flexible Admin so its a good solution for me though

    Thanks

    Hi Brett,

I agree, it seems an odd dependency!

I’m glad you can get what you are after With the Zoo add-on.

If you need anything else, just let us know!

    Cheers,
