I just want a webcomic-site like http://www.pvponline.com ... so I need the latest webcomic on frontpage. Fine, no problem. But I need also a link to the previous entry. Because I’m on my root-url ( http://www.example.com) Previews/Next linking doesn’t work.
So how do I create a link to the previous entry on frontpage?

Maybe you need something like a JS slider, where the user can scroll left and right through entries on the one page.

No, I don’t want a slider. It should simple be like http://trenchescomic.com/ (it’s also powered by EE).
Main-Page: Latest Comic with some previous-buttons. So you can flip through the archive.
