I’m setting up a new website, I’m running EE2 and its a completely new install.

I’m using the textile plugin and TEH textile editor.

I’m copying the old entries manually from my current live EE1.6.3 website here: http://paulcripps.com I’m doing it manually as I want ot tidy it all up, a fresh start 😊

I’ve also been running a few imports using the AJW DataGrab to import from varying feeds such as flickr, twitter etc. and I’m getting odd characters.

A couple problem entries can be seen here (simple anchor links to examples)

    http://dev.paulcripps.com/#534
    http://dev.paulcripps.com/#541
    http://dev.paulcripps.com/#544

If you scroll through this full list of entries you’ll see other examples.

I’m no genius but I’m I’m guessing its some sort of character settings somewhere, possibly the database…

Any help or pointers greatly appreciated.

oddly if you view a direct entry it works: http://dev.paulcripps.com/371

Suggesting its something to do with the Textile, I’ve also noted when logged in I get PHP errors:

    ——————————————————————————————————————————

    A PHP Error was encountered

    Severity: Warning

Message: Invalid argument supplied for foreach()

    Filename: libraries/EE_Typography.php

    Line Number: 223

    ——————————————————————————————————————————

it looks like the issue is using EE file paths within textile, so the following markup:

    <br /> ! { filedir_3 } edie_cripps_10-10-08.gif!<br />

note I’ve added the spaces to ensure its readable! this breaks, where as the direct path works fine:

    <br /> !/images/uploads/blog/edie_cripps_10-10-08.gif! <br />

ok, please hand me the wooden spoon / dunces hat and sit me in the corner with a “FAIL” t-shirt on!!!

Its probably because I’ve done this as a fresh install to allow me to clean this website up and I have not added any file uploads / hence missing images and errors.

    Will confirm 😉
