I recently upgraded our installation of EE 2.1.1 up to EE 2.1.3 build 20101220. Since that upgrade, my editors are no longer able to move entries between channels like they used to. The channels have consistent category, field and status groups and there were no issues moving entries between channels prior to the upgrade.

When logged in with my super-user account I am still able to move entries between channels successfully, but other users with normal member privileges just see a blank ‘Channel’ dropdown in the Options tab when editing an entry.

What might have changed that is causing users with normal membership privileges to see a blank Channel dropdown after the upgrade? I looked through all of the possible permissions and don’t see one that might affect this.

Can you please confirm that the Editors group does still have access to the appropriate statuses for those channels?

Yes, the Editors group has access to all of the channels, and the users are able to both post new entries and edit existing entries in all of the available channels.

Hi, BingWebTeam. Can you also let us know what third party add-ons might be at play here? The editors can add new entries, right, just not move entries between one group and another? Are any of these channels using any sort of third party field types? If so, which ones?

The only third-party addon installed is Matrix 2.1.4.1 (http://pixelandtonic.com/matrix) but the Matrix fieldtype is not in use on any of the channels in question.

Yes, editors are able to add new entries and edit existing entries but they cannot move entries from one channel to another; the channel dropdown under the Options tab when editing an entry is blank for them (but works just fine for me as a super-admin).

This bug was reported here but looks like it is fixed in beta here for next release

Thanks John, I’ll look forward to the next release and see if that fixes the issue. We’re working around it in the meantime by having me make all the required changes.
