I have installed EE on a dev server with a fake domain that I have no intention of putting online.  Since it is not online, I need to access the CP this way:

    http://65.33.44.55/$sitepreview/devsite.com/system/index.php?S=0&D=cp&C=homepage

The problem is that the CSS and images are being referenced at http://devsite.com.  What do I need to change so that the everything is referenced relative to http://65.33.44.55/$sitepreview/devsite.com.

    Thanks for any help!

    dzaun,

Are you referring to the control panel or the frontend?

If the control panel then just goto your General Configuration and update your Site and Theme URLs and paths

Thanks John.  I tried to access General Configuration in the Control Panel, but the page doesn’t load, I get an “object expected” error in IE.  Actually, all of the functions error out.  Does the General Configuration update the config.php file?  If so, what exactly should be changed?

    John,

This was resolved using the General Configuration function.  I was getting errors, but the prompts were still displayed at the bottom and I was able to update the Site and Theme URLs and after a refresh it looks and appears to act like it should again.

I’m still curious where the Theme URL and path are stored because I don’t see them in my config.php.

    Thanks for your help!

    dzaun,

They are stored in the sites preferences in the db but you can also override them in the config.php file if needs be
