Hi there,
I’ve been trying to delete a custom field but have been getting the following error:
A PHP Error was encountered
Severity: Notice
Message: Undefined property: Rel_ft::$db
Filename: fieldtypes/ft.rel.php
Line Number: 202
Fatal error: Call to a member function select() on a non-object in /home8/customs8/public_html/training/csmin/expressionengine/fieldtypes/ft.rel.php on line 202
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Strange, I’m also trying to delete a custom relationship field and am getting the same error. EE 2.1.3, build 20101220.

This is a bug. You can see the report here. It is fixed in beta so should make it into next release
