    Dovla,

    the only thing I tried later was changing the [‘uri_protocol’] in the config.php file in system/installer/config to both QUERY STRING and REQUEST_URI…no luck

    Set that to PATH_INFO

    Can you change the following relative path to an absolute server path

    $system_path = './system';

    Who is your host?

    just tried it, still no luck…also tried the full server path and it still shows the same message..

    the hosting is http://www.visual-fusion.com/

    I’m willing to give you some access to the server if there is nothing else I can try myself

    thanks

    Hi, Dovia.

    still not working…actually tried it on a completely different machine and hosting account and got the very same message:

    Were both those accounts on the same hosting server?

    no, completely different server, same problem…the second one however is not the server that I want to build the site on…so I didn’t try every single option available, just wanted to see if the problem was repeating in another environment

    Hi Dovla,

    You mentioned that this is a cPanel server. So, the full path to your account webroot should be something like “/home/youraccountname/public_html” and therefore in your root index.php file (not the one in the system folder) you should have something like “/home/youraccountname/public_html/system” for your system path. Is that what you have or has your host given you a completely different path?

    Cheers

    Greg
