I have a member login form on my frontend site, using the {exp:member:login_form} tag. When a registered member is logged in, I display a link to their control panel if they are in a Member Group that has access to the CP.

The problem is that when they click on the CP link, they are shown the backend login form - their logged-in status or session is not carried through to authenticate them on the backend.

Is this a known bug, or is there something I have to do to make it work as expected?

Hi, Matthew. What version/build of EE1.x are you using? You can find that out at the bottom of any control panel page.

Double check that you aren’t getting them messed up with a www or non-www version of the site. Make sure you either use a:

Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Cookie Settings

    Cookie Domain

    -or=

Some other method of using either just the non-www or the www version of the site.

    Does that help?

Ah, that was it - I had it set to use Cookie + Session for admin login. Thanks, Sue! 😊
