I use Aptana. Pretty much cause I’m on Ubuntu and I haven’t found any other IDE I like that’s NOT Java…
I’m occasionally running Dreamweaver with Wine, since that’s the editor I “grew up with”.

I think I might give PHP Designer a try again myself. I am actually using Aptana… although its good, its way way too heavy on system resources and I am not too sure the PHP aspect of it has matured enough.

Yeah php designer’s pretty good.

I have to agree that almost every GUI editor out there feels tediously slow compared to vim, except for UltraEdit. I’ve been using version 14 and just upgraded to version 15. Started with version 5 back in 98.
...Of course, right now it is only available for Windows, but will be released soon for both Linux and Mac.
Sorry for clipping the quote..
I dig ultraedit a lot - I just wish I could get it to work better in *nix. I’m using Aptana standalone because of the SVN and FTP integration + decent syntax highlighting.

Started using TextMate again, and I love it. F*ck resource heavy Aptana 😛

Have you tried Netbeans? It’s a little bit ‘lighter’ than Eclipse, but since it’s a full fledged IDE it’s obviously not as fast as the ‘text editors’. The support for SVN (the only versioning system I have a lot experience with) is great, you basically don’t have to use another SVN tool anymore.
Another option could be VIM. The learning curve is pretty steep but after you get used to it, you won’t ever want to use another text editor again (well maybe EMACS, but I’m not going to start that discussion here).
