digg

To add a link for digging articles you can use this method:

<!-- add to digg link -->
<
a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=2&amp;url={title_permalink=template_group_name}/comments}&amp;title={title}&amp;bodytext={summary}">Digg This Article</a

HINTS

You can also specify a specific topic if all of your posted articles should be listed in the same category on digg. Just add &amp;topic=CATEGORY. This assumes that you use your summary field when posting.

digg will remove all content after 350 characters in the description. So your submission might be longer than they allow. To relieve this keep your summary text to less than 350 characters. If your entry is longer, it will still work, it’ll just cut the characters off that go over.

Warning

If you are going to use the ‘&bodytext={summary}’ understand that it means you cannot have any html calls in the summary field. just general stuff. That is, you can have

<br />
statements but not
<p

. If you do, it will screw up the link and dump the whole summary where your ‘digg this article’ text should be.
