Question: I see that there is only one template for the Control panel. How can I add more?
Answer: The templates for the Control panel are now found in the /themes/cp_themes/ folder. The default (or shipping theme) is called default. Make a copy of the default folder, and give that folder a name.
After you have named that folder, rename the file called default.css to yourfoldername.css where yourfoldername is the name of your new folder: example: red.css for a folder called red.
You can then changed the css and graphics in that new folder.
Best Practice: Make a backup copy of your themes by creating a new folder on your server and copy over the contents of the default folder into it. This way, you have a clean version of your template codes.
NOTE: After you make your new Control panel template, you’ll be able to choose it in your My Account tab.
